President VonBehren spent 10 years as a U.S. Marnine before becoming a Law Enforcement Officer in 1991. He worked as a Patrol Officer with the Morehead City Police Department for approximately 3 years before becoming a member of the New Bern Police Department in September 1993. President VonBehren currently serves as a Supervisor/Sergeant for a patrol Team. He has experience in High Risk Warrant Entry, Training, Criminal Investigation, and Motor Vehicle Accident Investigation. He is a General Instructor, Train the Trainer Instructor, and Specialized Driving Instructor. He has taught various topics for several years within the Basic Law Enforcement Training program.
President VonBehren received an Associates Degree in Criminal Justice from Coastal Carolina Community College and Bachelors in Criminal Justice from Mount Olive College. His hobbies are motorcycle riding; currently serving as the Treasurer of the Blue Knight's NC Chapter I. He is also a member of the Harley Owner's Group (HOG), New Bern Chapter.
Prior to being elected as Presient of the Tri-County Lodge #52, he served as the State Trustee for several years.
